Bjelovar
Bjelovar is one of the most beautiful towns in Central Croatia. It is the main administrative center of the Bjelovar-Bilogora County - the easternmost part of Central Croatia. Thanks to the well planned construction, the city has a proper square structure, giving it a recognizable and interesting look.

Bjelovar is one of the „youngest” towns in Croatia. The 1765 was taken as the beginning of the city's birth, when a construction permit was issued by Habsburgs. The plan was to build a town that would take over the role of the leading military regiment in the region. This was the merit of the famous Habsburg Emperor Maria Theresa who granted the city a status of a protected city in 1771, which resulted in a remote development.
Apart from architecture, Bjelovar is also known as the town of cheese thanks to the long tradition of cheese production whic is present until this day. A perfect place for all tourists who like to explore the world's gastronomic delicacies. The best opportunity to find out about the local specialties of Bjelovar is gastronomic festivals that take place during the year.
