Prigorje
Stretching somewhere between the southern slopes of Medvednica and Sava, Prigorje is a small rural area, naturally leaning on Zagreb. Apart from being very close to the Croatian capital Zagreb, Prigorje is an area that has plenty to offer to its visitors.
Samobor
Samobor is a picturesque town with a long tourist tradition that has started to develop since 1886. Long history, cultural heritage, and a beautiful natural environment, today make it one of the leading destinations in the area of Central Croatia. There are well-preserved buildings built in Baroque style, giving the city a distinctive look, and because of that many people call Samobor a „city-museum”. You can see that once you enter the city's center. Every building in the central square has become a protected monument of culture. Interesting architecture is followed by an equally interesting gastronomic offer. During the rule of Napoleon, the French have stayed for a long time in the city. Their influence is mostly present in gastronomy. Thanks to the french influence the aperitif Bermet was born - a drink prepared from red wine, citrus, and various grasses. If you travel to Samobor you have to try a dessert which is considered a gastro-souvenir of Samobor and it's called Kremšnita. The central event of the year is the traditional Samoborski Fašnik - a lavish ten-day carnival that has been held since 1885 and attracts a large number of visitors.
